Watched "Music and Lyrics" last night. It feels wierd that I actually got all the 80's in jokes. The character Hugh Grant plays, "Alex Fletcher," embodies both the has-been and never-was celebrity. Which begs the question, what would you rather be, the has-been who can only reflect on past glories or the never-was who eternally shines of unfulfilled potential? One of those has fallen, crashing down after having their single moment of glory. The other will always look like they are about to take off... except they never leave the ground.
To flap or fall?
